Hi Angela,
Thanks for the post. I've moved it to a more appropriate place - hope you don't mind.
Before I can answer, can you please formulate the problem related to class management? What exactly are you interested in? _________________ Alexander Sokol |

thank you for the post. Class managment is a big ocean to be explained. However, it is based on certain elements in order to succeed. For example,a teacher's appearance maters a lot to pupils. They always respect those elegant teachrs who dressed nicely. Besides, the more a teachers is capable of the subject being taught, the better respectful atmosphere he can get.
the style of teaching plays an essential role in shaping students personalities and thier behaviors later on.
thank you ........... |

braveknight,
thanks for proposing some solutions. However, I think it's important that we define the problem before offering a solution. There could be quite a few problems hiding under the title 'class management'. Your solutions might work for some of them but they don't necessarily solve all of them, do they? _________________ Alexander Sokol |

I think that in this particular category of the forum our task is to learn to formulate and solve problems. Therefore, it ie essential that we follow some rules, not just discuss things.
Re some classroom management problems. Here come a few examples for you:
The teacher wants the class to work silently, however everyone is talking.
The teacher wants the students to discuss things in groups using the target language (eg English), however all groups discussions take place in the mother tongue. _________________ Alexander Sokol |
