The crocodile story Task: read the story and then follow the instructions below to retell
it.
„A crocodile crossed the street and entered a
bookshop. He wanted to buy a magazine about motorbikes. The salesman laughed at
him and said he had none of them anymore. He advised the crocodile to go to
another bookshop. The crocodile thanked and left. Outside he looked up and
murmured „The weather will be horrible again. I don’t like the clouds at all”
Then he went away.”
- Tell
the story as if it happened yesterday. You were the eyewitness.
- Tell a dialogue between the salesman and his wife when he comes home in
the evening and tells her the story about the crocodile.
- Tell the story from the point of view of an old lady from the
neighbourhood who saw the crocodile entering the bookshop but didn’t believe
her eyes.
- Tell the story meaning it has never happened, that is it pure fantasy.
